Blogsite 4-day sale!

March 20, 2009

As an introductory offer, blogsites are on sale until midnight, March 25th for *$400*.  In addition, the first 8 to sign up will receive a blogsite for only *$350*! That’s $150 off the regular price of $500.

What, you’ve never heard of a blogsite?  It’s really quite simple.  A blogsite combines a regular static photography website (gallery, information, contact, pricing, etc…) with a WordPress blog, all beautifully designed with your branding into one cohesive site.  Tired of having 2 about pages or 2 contact forms?  Do you want all the SEO advantages of a blog all there on the front page of your website?  Then perhaps a blogsite is for you.

Blogsites include unlimited galleries, unlimited pages, and countless plugins written for the WordPress system, including a multitude of 3rd party software to help you integrate galleries and movie clips into your blogsite.

*price does not include any 3rd party software that you may require for flash gallery integration.

To sign up, please fill out the Sign Up Form.  Make sure to select “I’d like a slick blogsite.”  Sale price will be adjusted after sign-up.

Backup now, Backup often!

March 17, 2009

Ok, so you guys are all photographers and know how important it is to backup your images. Well the same goes for your blog. I’m making this a general reminder to everyone to make sure and backup your database at least once a week. I had a client today e-mailing me frantically because she deleted 3 months worth of posts by accident. There were NO backups made of them. Luckily, I had her blog on my reader so I was able to send them to her one by one, but she will have to manually rebuild her posts. *sigh* So sad…

So don’t let that happen to you! The easiest way to backup your database is to install the WP DB-Backup Plugin.  You can specify how often to do the backup.  It will run the backup, and you can have it either e-mail you, save it on your server, or download it to your computer.

Pricing & Policy changes

March 15, 2009

I’ve just updated the information page with new pricing and policy changes. The pricing hasn’t changed very much, but the policies have.

Due to some unfortunate failed payments, we’ve had to change our terms of service and payment policies. The changes should benefit you as the client as well, since some of it involves the gathering of design information and your rights to terminate service.  The main change is that payments will now be required up front before any services begin.  Please read the Design Process & Payment Policies thoroughly to read up on these changes.

The new pricing will be applied to new sign ups, whereas the new policies will take affect from this date, March 15, 2009.

Chat with Me!

March 10, 2009

Seriously…I’m here all the time.  Well, not all the time.  But if I’m working (but not shooting), then I’m online.  I have a new Live Chat feature so that clients can talk to me about their blog design.  Sometimes e-mails can get crazy with the whole back and forth thing, so I thought a little “chat room” would be a nice feature to have.   It’s password protected to prevent just anyone from peeking in, so if you want to schedule a chat session with me, request one here.

Subscription Perks

March 4, 2009

It seems like every day, I come across a GREAT plugin or feature that I know will make my blog clients happy. Some in particular are geared specifically for photographers who, like myself, are always looking for that little something to make blogging easier, fun, and edgy.  I feel guilty for not sharing each and every one of these “aha!” moments.

Well I thought a great to share these aha moment would be to provide them to subscribers of this blog.  You can submit your e-mail address here to be added to the subscribers list.  I will be posting about these wonderful plugins and features, but they will only be available to those on the list, whether you are a client of mine or not.  These private posts will be password protected and all subscribers will be provided the password in their e-mails.

So what are you waiting for?  Subscribe here.
